The cartoon editor of The Mirror sent me an email today. Apparently, a reader had phoned in to say how unhappy they were that the hippos no longer appeared in Horace.
I'm not even CLOSE to working that one out.
-
Not Hopis like the tribe? Put it down to the continually confused. :\
-
You ARE going to work out a hilarious-yet-extremely-contrived reason to put some hippos into an upcoming Horace strip though, right?
Really, it's the only appropriate response.
-
I think I missed the hippos strips. Are you bringing them back?
-
I hope so. I even phoned the paper to say how unhappy I was that they no longer appeared.
I believe the last strip explained Pythagoras theorem using an indian lady on a hippo skin, plus two others on buffalo pelts: The squaw on the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides.
-
The squaw on the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides.
You know for a fact that that joke is going to be completely lost on Roger.
-
I suppose it was Big Chief Sohcahtoa doing the explaining?
-
The squaw on the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws on the other two hides.
You know for a fact that that joke is going to be completely lost on Roger.
Why?
-
I didn't think someone who had trouble opening laptop lids would have progressed to Pythagoras' theorem.
-
I used Pythagoras' theorem to OPEN the laptop.
-
I used Pythagoras' theorem to OPEN the laptop.
How did you feel when it didn't work?
