We ought to have an introductory Beau Peep pack sent to new members to entice them in: a few strips, a badge signed by Dennis, perhaps a bayonet. What else could we include?
-
Dehydrated mince - just add alcohol.
-
A bayonetted Tarquin.

That's actually a great idea but I'd keep it to digital items, so save on the cost, a few strips is cool, plus perhaps an amusing "iintroduction/profile" of some of the regular members, and wasn't there a Beau game knocking around? Great idea though.
Addendum: How about a short welcoming message from Roger, we could write an amusing one and he could just send it...

I'm sure it would be best if we kept signed copies of things from Roger to winners of the Christmas competition. If you're not sure what the Christmas competition is, it's a competition that loads of people enter and that Mince does not win.
-
Signed things from Roger? You mean cheques, don't you?

Nope. Signed strips, like the one on my Dad's wall that taunts me every time I go round there.
-
Oh, those. Yes, I've got one of those. In fact, more than one.

How many Christmas competitions did you win?

Just the one... actually, none.

They do look rather good. I paricularly like the personalised note that comes with them. Very nice touch.
:P
-
paricularly?
My dad can't spell either. Maybe the strips are just consolation prizes.
-
Yellow card - 'Old Mince' foul - the mistake was obviously a typo. One more, and it's an earily bath!
-
Hey, read the rules. A poster is officially off-his-head if he or she is in another poster's topic and closer to getting the spelling completely wrong than both my dad and the second-to-last person who posted.
-
I can't believe you missed my planted typo. Shame on you!

Hmm! Which do you think is more likely, that the Grand Wizard of Grammar's Eagle Eye missed your typo, or that his Eagle Eyebrows raised to a withering look on seeing your childishly obvious attempt at trickery? Your caricatures are affecting your posting, exaggerating your 'plant' to something more akin to a rain forest.
-
I genuflect in your general direction.
[checks dictionary...]
Yep - genuflect!
-
Yeah, I had to look it up as well, just to make sure it wasn't some kind of insult.
Actually, I'm still not sure.
-
Didn't Pele advertise problems with genuflections?
