Title: Another milestone.
Post by: Rob Baker on January 12, 2016, 07:12:05 PM
The first Beau Peep strip was published in the launch issue of the Daily Star in November 1978:

Back in December 1997,  Beau and Dennis went AWOL (albeit from a different looking fort  ..0):
(http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk284/nomad2010/strips/bp%20271297_zpspdir6cis.jpg) (http://s283.photobucket.com/user/nomad2010/media/strips/bp%20271297_zpspdir6cis.jpg.html)

For the first time in 19 years (and some 6,000 strips later) they were no longer in the Daily Star.

But their adventures returned to the Paper in March 1999 (with the strip serial numbers restarting again from number one):

And today the 5,000th strip was published:

Congratulations, Roger and Andrew!

Adding that together with my calculator-like brain, that comes to ******* ****loads!!!

A truly remarkable achievement, chaps. Keep 'em coming and supremely well done (and thanks, Rob, for the heads up)!

I think I've said it before, but to be able to consistently come up with genuinely funny strips after all this time, is pure genius.

As Tarks said, keep em coming!

The comma after "time" shouldn't be there.

As Tarks said, keep em coming!

But he used an apostrophe.

1/10  Try harder.  ;D

Funnily enough, I tried it with and without the comma. I also considered going back to amend the "'em".

Then I realised I had a life and thought "bollocks"...and promptly logged off !

Have you no pity, Sandy? The stress being caused to Mince by your exclamation mark being a full space away from your final word is almost palpable.

Then I realised I had a life

Don't give me that! You live in Scotland.

I know!

But its the unpredictability of the spacing that makes it so much fun         !

Sorry, that was a typo. It should have read "loaf"...I should have made myself more plain.

You realised you had a loaf and thought "bollocks"? What do they make the bread out of in Scotland?
