Glad to hear that! Belated birthday greetings, Roger. Sorry I missed it, but Diane had my back with "loyal subjects". Any cake left...?

Thanks, Steve.
I mentioned in the previous thread how my daughter and her partner had come over for a really enjoyable family get-together. Steven's birthday is two days before mine so it was a joint celebration. I'm afraid there was no cake involved and, therefore, no remnants for me to pass on. I'm sure there's a ten day-old sausage from the barbecue in the fridge...

Yes. It’s old, cold, burnt sausage cake.

Typical! He gets on the board on my birthday to wish Happy Birthday to Roger.

Well, let me wish you a Happy Birthday, three days late. Hope you had a good one. Oh, and Happy Birthday, America.

My wife gave me homemade chocolate-covered honeycomb: I ate the whole lot in one day.

Glad to hear that! Belated birthday greetings, Roger Mincey. Sorry I missed it, but Diane had my back with "loyal subjects moaning Minnies". Any cake chocolate honeycomb left...? No, obviously not.  ..0

Today is George W. Bush's birthday. Also Sylvester Stallone's. So it's appropriate that I chose today, since I believe you're all the same age.

That must be the board equivalent of re-using the same birthday card.

Incidentally, though much older, Stallone is the same height as me. Of course, he lacks the Adonis build I am currently sporting.

(I can't believe you actually Googled Stallone to check that he was older than you!  ;D )

(Actually, I can.)

Happy birthday Mince!

Tell us more about the honeycomb - was this like a Crunchie bar made with boiled sugar or a natural part of a bees nest?

My wife sources her honeycomb from Laos because they sell the honeycomb with the juicy bee larvae inside. You have to remove the banana leaf packaging first (which the residents use to fry the honeycomb before eating), but once covered in a layer of acacia honey and then smothered in chocolate, you have a surprisingly juicy sweet snack with a nutty taste.

Nah! It's just a homemade Crunchie.
