Title: "Vanity Googling".
Post by: Roger Kettle on October 28, 2007, 08:59:03 PM
To my shame, I've been doing a bit of "Vanity Googling"....you know, sticking your name in to see what comes up. On the plus side, Malky McGookin lists me as a friend! On the weird side, I stumbled across an American forum for cartoon fans. One topic that was being discussed was about "British strip imports". The contributor reckoned Beau Peep was the best and Fred Basset the worst. Now, as far as my agents have told me, Beau Peep has never been syndicated in America. Hmmm.....

According to this link, Roger, it ran in The Syndicate between 1987 and 1990. http://strippersguide.blogspot.com/2006/02/mystery-strips-of-ep-b-listings.html (http://strippersguide.blogspot.com/2006/02/mystery-strips-of-ep-b-listings.html)

Very strange, Nige. As I said, I've always been led to believe that Beau Peep never sold in The States and the post I referred to earlier seemed quite recent. Hmmm again.

I couldn't find any reference to me listing you as a friend until I typed my name AND yours into Google.

It was on my weblog.

Hey Malc, I've just seen a photo of you in the latest Jester newsletter.

You're even uglier than I thought.  ;D

Look, I was trying to be as good looking as I could. I was tensing so hard you couldn't fit a Visa card between my bum cheeks.

Do I have to get a copy of that rag to see the photo? By "rag" I mean "well respected trade journal" obviously.

I've asked if they'll send you a PDF of the Jester, Malcolm...
