I like clicking the wee arrows below Tarquin's avatar and making him go from side to side.

What a brilliant idea, Roger. If you use the slider, it looks as if he's banging his head on the walls of his little box!  ;)

That's what he does in real life.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

It's a Scottish expression.

Tarquin's avatar is too large for the viewable area, hence the left and right arrows at the bottom with a 'slider' in the middle.  But then you knew that anyway, and I'm just wasting my time.

Bilthehut, I haven't the foggiest what you are on about... left and right arrows and slider bar... Tarquin's avatar fits the viewable area just fine.

I do tune in in widescreen though, so if you are all viewing in normal screen that would explain it... but I thought all of the avatars were of a set size...

Maybe you can adjust the settings for the size of the avatar viewing window?  I just know that I see Tarks avatar as a picture with the 'slidey thing and arrows ...

I'm using a different computer now, and see what you mean. It must have something to do with the widescreen thing.

Very true. I was known as Golden Boots.

While you lot are coming up with acres of guff bon mots to counter that, I'll go and brew a pot of my own blend coffee, Chaussures D'Or.

I've just watched this for the third time and it really is a great video. The Dutch guy (Bekker? Dekker?) has a wonderful voice but it's a truly inspired compilation.
I remember Malc and I discussing this song on here some years ago. Malc preferred the John Lennon version while, much as I love it, I've got to go with the Ben E. King original---simply because of the bass line which Lennon omitted and, for me, makes the song.
And I stand by that. (Geddit???)
