Beau Peep around the World

I thought I’d start this thread to try and capture everywhere Beau Peep is published – all contributions greatly welcomed.

We already know Beau is popular in India because of the new website, and also he’s in “The Times of India”.  And in previous posts on here we learned he’s featured in a cartoons magazine in Italy (where he’s known as Beep Peep).

An article in the Daily Star in 1984 said  ....."the Foreign Legionnaire is now one of the most popular cartoon characters. His wacky adventures are eagerly followed by readers of newspapers in Norway, Sweden, Italy, Holland, Greece, Oman, Nigeria, Hong Kong and Sarawak."

So I’ve done a little bit more digging around and found Beau in :

Mumbai, India
“Afternoon Despatch & Courier”
www.afternoondc.in
[click on ‘ePaper’ on the grey banner, then ‘Coffee Break’,  to see Beau]

Mauritius
“The Independent Daily”
www.theindependent.mu
[again, click on ‘e-Paper’ to find Beau]

And the dizzy heights of Kathmandu, Nepal !
“The Himalayan Times”
www.thehimalayantimes.com
[click on ‘ePaper’ under the blue banner to see Beau]

So, Peep Fans, keep your eyes peeled when you're on your travels, and see if we can spot Beau anywhere else.

Beau Peep---as seen in The Himalayan Times, Katmandu. I think I'll put that on my business card!

It's amazing where Beau gets to.

Do you get additional fees for this, Roger.  You must be able to afford a second castle by now.

Well, yes, we do get syndication payments but they are miniscule. Realistically, only the the top American strips like Peanuts and Garfield get the numbers required for the big bucks. Also, from a merchandising point of view, kids and cats have a lot more potential than a little guy with glasses and a moustache!

Forget Nepal, we even get him in Scotland now.
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟
