Thought I'd better say hello
« on: January 30, 2016, 10:39:58 AM »
Hi folks,
Thought I'd better say hello (after a prod in the ribs by Mince) ;)
Live in Manchester UK.  Loved reading the cartoon strip way back in the 80's.  Had to give it up when the guy whose shoulder I used to read it over started closing his paper when I walked past.  Kind of lost touch with it 'til I came across Cameldung.  Great to see it's still going strong.

Thanks, Shufflebottom. It's just that new members tend to be ignored until they're proved not to be me. Some here don't even believe my dad is real.

Welcome, Shuff (if I may make so bold)!

Ignore Mince - he doesn't really exist. It's not that we don't believe his dad is real - just that he has a dad at all.

I think you'll enjoy it here. See if you can get that guy who actually bought the paper to join. That would be a novelty.
I apologise, in advance.

Welcome, Shufflebottom!
I used to pop down to Manchester back in the day when the Star's main offices were in Ancoats Street. Editors like Derek Jamieson would insist on taking Andrew and I to the pub. We were shocked.
Hope you enjoy popping in here.

My dad still insists on taking I to the pub on my birthday, and we always stagger back home along a grammatically incorrect route. :)

Welcome indeed, as Mince indicates for some reason we have a certain rectitude in welcoming folks, mainly because they are usually Mince in disguise...have fun

Hey Shuffs!

Enjoy the place and treat it as your own. Slagging off Mince is compulsory by the way, so feel free to join in. Mind hang around for this years Xmas competition...Mince never wins. Its the best bit of the fun !

Hello Shufflebottom - I often forget to read the Just a Fort forum, hope you didn't wait too long for a welcome.
