You need to be good at geography to buy Greek yogurt. I heard how good it was for you but our local store only sells “Balkan” – so there I am in the grocery store trying to remember if Greece is part of the Balkan Peninsula. I figured it must be close enough.
-
"Balkan Yoghurt" sounds like a profane insult and I'm going to use it from now on.
"HEY, YOU! GET OUT OF MY WAY, YOU BALKAN YOGHURT!"
-
You have to be careful when delivering the dairy insults Roger – they will retaliate by calling you “buttermilk” and then things will just escalate.
-
Yes, the Balkan States do include Greece, you condensed milk clotted cream.

Uncultured swine.

Oi, I just got that ya git.

Not much Christmas spirit around here yet .... :-\
-
Won't some Christmas spirit inflame the situation. Methinks I shall sally forth back to the bunker for cover.
-
I just liked the idea of milk products being insults :-)
Talking of insulting people, I notice that Mince is maintaining his self-imposed exile from the boards. I reckon, at this time of year, some of us should furtively try and check up on what he's up to.
We need some Mince Spies.

<<groan>> You've been sneaking the jokes out of the Christmas crackers, haven't you?
-
No, it's all proper Christmassy around here - plenty of mixed nuts and fruitcakes.
I just thought it was ironic that I didn't get the 'dense' insult until after Bill ;D at Nige's post. Sometimes that Nige is just a bit too clever for me.
-
Was not the emboldened text a giveaway?
-
You would think so Bill. I tried denseclot which didn't make much sense, then I tried to rearrange the letters to make up a propper word and then I thought maybe Nige was just too smart or had been on a bender and gave up.

I like the pun there 'propper' and 'word'. Just like military intelligence. 8)
-
Maybe I should have typed "Uncultured swine". Or maybe I just shouldn't have bothered. ..0

I hope you believe me when I say that was unintentional – I sure wouldn’t want the Swiss finding out too many of our secrets.

Are you rolling your eyes at me...or you rolling your eyes at him?
-
I'm just rolling along any old where, Diane.
-
Really? 'Caus it looked like you were rolling your eyes at me there for a minute.
-
Can you tell us if you thought it was better than other yogurts? Taste, consistency, calorific value and such like. Thanks

As if.

That's getting a bit off topic isn't it Diamond Lil.
But okay. It is exactly like sour cream for taste and consistancy with 1/4 of the calories.
-
But is it thick?
-
How thick?

I thought that was the topic...(see subject heading).... :-*
-
Erm yup - that was why it was funny what I said.
-
..0 @ no-one in particular.
-
How thick?
Thicker than thin, normal yoghurt. Greek yoghurt (at least over here) is thick and creamy.
Perfect for yucky pudding.. Yum!

Are you sure, 'cause I think you are rolling them at her.

Is this another dish you have invented for cooking in a BP mug in the microwave?

Whom would her be?
-
I've just read a fabulous book (courtesy of Fyodor) where two men are talking about a woman as if she wasn't there, using "she" and "her" all the time. An observer notes that it was "assault by pronoun."

Did you try the recipe?
p.s. SWMBO has just informed me that normal yoghurt is used for Yucky pudding - no cooking required.
Whip up some double cream. Fold an equal amount of Plain or flavoured (not lumpy) yoghurt into the whipped cream. Pour or forklift the mixture into a flan dish - eat the excess. Then sprinkle liberally Demerara sugar (do not use brown sugar) over the surface until you cannot see the mix underneath. Place in a fridge for several hours. The sugar forms a solid crust and is perfect left overnight (I have managed this only once).
then take the pudding into a secluded spot away from anyone else and enjoy.
-
Reminds me of an 1870's description of the Powder River in America...
"Too thick to drink, too thin to plough".

Where can one hire a forklift at this time of the year?

You mean you don't have any next to your knives in the cutlery drawer?

Now you're being silly!

"her" was my attempt at Ronnie Barker style humour - don't worry it won't happen again.

Diane, I see there is a programme over Christmas called "The One Ronnie"...Ronnie Corbett at 80 doing a show with a whole host of younger comedians...don't know what it will be like without Ronnie Barker
