If you are not on Facebook you may not know that Nige took a nasty fall when all the lights went out due to the storms in Scotland - a lot of trees came down that is how bad things are.
Nigel suffered some really bad cuts to his face :'(
Get well soon Nige,
Hugs, Diane
(PS this is not funny - no jokes please)
-
Well, I hope he gets better.
-
I just want to make it clear that I wasn't climbing a tree at the time.
Thanks Diane and my old mate, Mince.
-
Get well soon, mate. Sounds nasty---what actually happened?

How come he gets to make jokes?
-
Don't forget to mention the teeth.
Get well soon, Nige.
-
Now he has to tell us what happened...
Feel better soon :-*

It was a truly awful start to the day. Nearly put me off my bran flakes. The Facebook posting appears to be "unavailable" at present, perhaps deemed too shocking by the FB Police.
Peepsie, hope you mend well and soon. Get plenty of rest meanwhile - send me your cartoon work.
-
Hope it's not as bad as it looks, Nige, and heals up really quickly. By all accounts, the weather on the West coast of Scotland was horrendous. Take it easy. xx

Thanks all. We're back online after yet another power cut - this time for 24 hours! There are a number of burger vans and a soup kitchen that the council have organised and set up.
Yes, I had a fall in the pitch dark and hit the floor with my nose and teeth. (I went back the next morning and managed to find the teeth, believe it or not.)
I took the photo down from FB because Lucy was angry about me posting it in the first place. No. I don't understand that either, but she's quite a private person.
Went back to the A&E at the hospital on the island to have the dressings removed. The stitches come out on Monday, when they will also x-ray my hooter.
Thanks for the offer of doing my cartoon work, Tranquil. I'll bear that in mind, as long as I still get to keep the money.
-
So what exactly were the injuries? I can't tell which bits are just you having a laugh.
-
It all sounds really painful, Nige---I hope you get the all clear on Monday. We've had gales over here on the East coast too and our power was knocked out for six hours on Tuesday. Every time we lose electricity, I keep saying all sorts of ridiculous things like " I'll just watch T.V. till the power comes back on" or " Let's boil the kettle and have a cup of tea". When the power gets cut off, my brain goes with it. It's scary how much we depend on electricity.
Hope everything gets back to normal for you soon, Nige.

I am wondering if they were able to re-insert your teeth or if they had been out too long for the roots to be alive?

It's amazing how everything stops when the power goes off. Shops here have been shut for days because they can't take money without scanning barcodes etc. Farmers have been pouring milk down the drain, and the big supermarket trashed thousands of pounds worth of stock.
The teeth comprised a cap, and a bridge at the side. I'm hoping something can be done...
-
Sorry to hear all that Nige - hope you get well soon, and are able to continue insulting Mincey in the manner to which he is accustomed.

Yesterday, when I was having the dressings removed, the nurse said, "Are you managing to clean what teeth you have left?"
Do they get trained in diplomacy?

;D

I am assuming you told the nurse that you found your teeth and are washing them daily.
