Doesn't today's date make you want to do something heroic.
-
No, but March 6th does.

May one?

It was a crap day for me. Just check my posting for 2011 around that day, and the lack of it after.

OK. Done that - still none the wiser.

No, but that should make it even more special for you.

Put me down.

Put me down.
Is there a vet near you?
-
Yes, I took an exhausted juvenile guillemot that I'd found on the beach there recently.
Incidentally, I've just added a new member - something I gave you to do ages ago! What kind of a secretary are you? I may need to demote you...
-
So now we should have five new members who don't post, and not just four.
-
I do so post! Any minute now, when inspiration strikes, as opposed to perspiration which strikes all too often. On an other issue, I thought I had some strange dates and venues in my time, but taking a guillemot to the vets... did it end badly? Was it [the guillemot] exhausted before you met it on the beach or after? That's a great word to type [guillemot], makes you pause half way to see how the spelling is going.

Welcome, Redundant.
I think I might change my name to Retired - it has more of a ring than 'Vulture' (and goes better with the photo of Terry!)

Plus, I'm less likely to take you to the vets...

Thanks Vulture [Retired], I'd stick with Vulture which you can always claim was meant to be Culture but the "V" and the "C" were too close on the keyboard. While I was bracketing the "Retired" a thought popped into my head [it happens a lot], wasn't there a cartoon strip character with something like [BH Calcutta - Retired] at the end of his name?
Terry is cool, used to listen to him on Radio 2 in the mornings, not so cool is Barry Manilow, when my Grandson was younger I used to search "Barry Manilow" in Go*gle Images, you should try it, used to scare the bejesus out of the poor lad, "wall to wall odd" [With apologies in advance for all/any? Barry Manilow fans of course].
-
Welcome from me as well, Redundant, or should we just call you Red (or possibly Ant) for short.
Don't be stingy with the posts to this Forum.
-
Thanks Bilthehut. "Red" is good, as is "Ant" but you missed "Und" if one was to be "Ped" or "Ant" or even "Ic" [That was a whole lot funnier in my head]. Bob would work too, it's not my name, but could be descriptive of my swimming technique. Red und Ant could even be the name of a German Blues Duo... or even worse, the German equivalent of Ant and Dec.

"BH Calcutta retired" was a bloodhound from The Perishers. Superb name.
-
Great name, without prejudice to "voices in my head" I can almost hear a slight pause between BH Calcutta and retired, "BH Calcutta...Retired" in one of those great accents the Beeb used to have.
