I planted my tomato seeds today and I talked to them as I gently placed them in the little indent I had made for them in the soil (not jiffy pots this time) wishing them well and telling them I hoped they would flourish.
My daughter said that I was crazy to be talking to my seeds - well if that makes me crazy then I guess Prince Charles must be too!
-
Careful, Diane, the Queen's a member on here. (Beau Corgi 51).
-
I met Prince Charles once, he told me to keep my soil moist and avoid slugs; I should add [in his defence] that I had just finished some physical training and could well have been quite red in the face.

How come you don't have a royal appointment yet then?

THese threads are handy. Now I can see that in only 8 days my tomato plants have reached 1 and 3/4 inches in height.
-
But how tall is Prince Charles?
-
He's supposed to be 5' 10", phhhrt, yeah, right. More like 5' 8". I could bash him up easy.

Fruit.

You've got to get through the 6'4" MI5 bloke with the Sig Sauer last.
-
Bigger they are, harder they fall, but I'll let him off on this occasion. He'd better watch it, that's all.
-
If anyone was wondering…my tomato plants grew well for a while then they stopped growing and turned a little yellow. I have them outside in big tubs now (so they can be brought in if there is a killing frost) hopefully all they need is a bit of sunshine to buck them up.

Absolutely nothing to do with Prince Charles, or tomatoes, but --- we now have four little robin babies being fed (and growing well) in our back door porch. I am under strict orders to not put the outside light on and to tip toe around the shelving. It's a good job the beer is not stowed there!
-
The fruits of my labour...this variety (Czech Select) did the best.

If this is some type of "Where's Wally ?" then I give in !

How did the baby robins fare?
-
Nice of you to ask. They all fledged in one day (16 May). No bodies found around the area, but there do seem to be more robins about.
-
They like to nest where there's a large internal space with just a tiny opening, although there's no truth in the rumour that they used Mince's earhole as that opening.

When the red red Robin goes bob bob bobbing along........................
