My sister, Diamond Lil. superfan of that bouffant-haired master of three chords, Neil Diamond, goes into hospital on Friday for an operation.
All the best, girl, and we'll see you soon.
-
Hope it's a short stay Lil!
Awra very best.
-
Don't forget the tablet, Lil - the quiz is far too easy without you!
Be well, and soon!
-
Best wishes, Lil.
Hope the recovery is quick and that you're up on your feet as quick as can be.
:)

I tried to pick you up a "Neil Diamond fruit basket" on the Google pictures - I was surprised to see images of bottles of wine. ???
Hope all goes well - let us know all the gory details when you are feeling better.
-
Thank you all.
I have to say the pre-op care has been exceptional, even to being told I am very fit and well ('for your age' was always there as an unspoken thought)
Tablet is packed, Tarqs!
-
Hope all goes well today for you, Lil.
-
So, how did it go? How are you feeling? ((((Lil))))
-
The operation went well, Diane. The surgery was relatively major and, because my sister has been on Warfarin for many years, there is always a fear of complications. So far, so good.
-
Good to hear, and may it continue to go from good to better.
-
Good. Tell her we're thinking about her and hope she recovers soon.
-
Best wishes, Diamond Lil, hope you get well soon.
-
I knew it must have been pretty major as Lil hasn't played the quiz since last Thursday, allowing me to take an unassailable lead.
Delighted to hear it all went well. Get well soon, Lil!

That's the spirit !
;D ;D ;D

I'm guessing my sister is feeling a little better...
They don't bugger about in the NHS these days (the surgeons complete the stitching in the patient's taxi home) so there's a chance Lil will be out of hospital in a day or two. A slight infection and the Warfarin levels require monitorig but, fingers crossed, things have gone well.
-
Money is very tight in the NHS just now. If you wouldn't mind asking Lil to return the thread when she's finished with it, I'm sure they would be most grateful.

I can't thank you all enough for your good wishes over the past few days. Roger let me know what had been posted and it really does feel like having another family being on here.
The hospital I was in was opened for business just over 2 years ago and yet the WiFi system was so poor that I had to sit on a window ledge (across a corridor outside my room) to send a text and doctors had to use 'bricks' to connect with each other. After many attempts, I finally managed to get online, posted here and then couldn't get on to the famous quiz site.... and so it remained for the rest of the stay!
Now for the recovery. I have it in black and white that I mustn't do any housework for 6 weeks, should indulge in gentle daily exercise and rest when I feel like it. Who says there isn't a positive side to everything :)
-
I have not cleaned my oven in way longer than 6 weeks – it is a very doable task you have been assigned.
I hope you have lots of books and shows to amuse yourself with while you recover on the couch. Lifting the TV remote would more than qualify for the light excercise componant of this get well program.
Glad you're out :)

That sounds like me, Lil. Sure you haven't had a sex change?
;D

Well THAT's nice...
I get here a few days late, and I'm assailed with what I can only describe as...language. Must be the anesthen....asanthetic, the gas wearing off.
Hope your recovery continues apace, Lil.
