...to post today, going for a beer with my Grandson in an hour or so. Did I mention I have a Grandson? Well I do, and we're going for a beer today, my Grandson and I. Before he goes back to the big island to university. Did I mention my Grandson was at university? Well he is and he and I, my Grandson that is, are going for a beer today, so I don't have time to post right now. When I get back from having a beer with my Grandson, who is home briefly from university, I will have more time to post. I'm sensing a theme running through this post, but I don't have time to explore it as I am going for a beer with my Grandson, whose normally at university but is home right now and going for a beer with his Grandfather [that's me].
Did I mention I have a Grandson? Probably.
-
If that's the pre-beer post, I hate to think what's coming later.
Enjoy! What was it you were doing again...?
-
Redundant, I forgot to ask: do you have a grandson?
-
Congratulations! Boy or a girl ?
;D

Well that's four pints dealt with, and I would describe myself as whimsical, favourite Granddad status has been maintained, and I may be in love with the Landlady of the Bridge Inn, or possibly the jukebox, I can't recall which direction I was facing at the time.
Redundant, I forgot to ask: do you have a grandson?
Yes.
Congratulations! Boy or a girl ?
;D
Yes.
I did discover I am clearly just a holiday drinker, in Crete I imbibe freely of the occasional beer, the more than occasional carafe of wine and top it off with liberal doses of anything else I can lay my hands on. In the Isle of Man four pints is not only enough for one day, but is more than enough until my Grandson comes home again. Did I mention I have a Grandson?

We ought to all go on a holiday to the same sunny place abroad and get drunk and throw up over the beach.
-
Why?
-
Then we can all write drunken posts on cameldung and no one will be watching.
-
Now, why didn't I think of that? Oh, yes - because I'm sane.
-
If that's a new symptom, we'll need a new diagnoses.
-
Now he thinks he's a doctor.
Probably THE Doctor...
-
You don't need to be a doctor to diagnose you: a mad man with delusions of sanity.
-
It's worse than I thought. He's talking to himself now.
-
It is nice that your grandson and you have a hobby together.
-
That was my first drink since my wife and I were in Crete in August last year, it was also the first time I have ever had a drink with my Grandson, and I was [in case you didn't notice] inordinately pleased to do so. He's having a hard time adjusting to university life, I know most students probably do but I think it's more difficult sometimes when they come from a background such as the Isle of Man. Essentially we're a smallish community, and somewhat insular, so to go from that to a much larger society, and to do it on your own, can be fairly daunting.
All in favour of drunken rants though, unlikely to produce any personally but happy to be the subject of one perhaps, or to award points.
Advance warning, I shall be dipping my toes into the American election process once more, in the very near future, but I'll probably spare you to torture of ignoring it and blog it instead, no need to thank me, just post the cheques.
-
At least he is just at the other end of a text or email these days.
The USA election process is painful to watch - the only small hope that America has is Sanders and he is so old and decrepit looking that I wonder if he can last to the end of his term if he win. Hopefully he will pick Warren as his running mate.
-
I see that Palin is giving her full backing to Trump.
Ye Gods.
-
Bravo! Or Oh No! Whichever is the best.
-
Hail to the Chief, if you ask me !
;D
