Title: Did you know . . .
Post by: Mince on June 06, 2016, 09:37:05 PM
The universe is not only expanding, but the speed at which it is expanding is increasing. Soon, the skies will be dark.

And also, even though nothing can travel faster than light, some galaxies are moving away from each other faster than the speed of light, simply because the 'space' between them is expanding so fast.

Pftt...

If Dr Who was a decent person, he'd nip forwards or backwards and do something about this!

Outrageous!

Of course, to do this the Doctor would need to be a little more resourceful, a little less haphazard, and much much less fictional.

Did you know: that light takes eight minutes to travel from the sun to the earth, and because gravity propagates at this same speed of light, if the sun were to suddenly disappear, we would continue orbiting for at least another eight minutes?

Did you know: that there is always at least one point on Earth's surface at which the temperature and air pressure are exactly the same as the temperature and air pressure on the exact opposite side of the world?

31 psi?  Please say it isn't the same as mine...that would be too freaky. At this point I would worry about everyone's ying and yang.
