I read on the internet this exchange between an English man who had learned some German at school talking to a German flight attendant on a Lufthansa flight.

Flight attendant: Etwas zu trinken?
Me: Wasser, bitte.
Flight attendant: Still or sparkling?

It makes me laugh every time I read it.
