Just to let you all know that I got out of hospital (Southern General) today after 15 days.
I got 2 discs taken out of my neck that were pushing into my nerves and replaced by a bit of bone from my hip.
I now have a neck brace on that has to stay in place for 6 weeks, great :-[
Just thought I would update you all.
-
Does this mean the problem has been diagnosed and fixed?
Christmas will be a bit fraught but at least there is light at the end on the tunnel.
I hope you'll soon be back to normal.
-
You're not the only one to have lost a couple of disks lately, Colin, but hopefully you'll fare better than the Inland Revenue for it!
Sounds painful and a bloody nuisance, but I trust you'll feel the benefit of it all very soon.
Take care - be well!
-
It's good to hear you're out of hospital... just take it easy over the next few weeks!
-
You kept that quiet, Colin. We'd have all come down to visit you and help with your recuperation!
Hopefully it won't be long before you're back to normal and in fine fettle.
-
From a big bluenose who spent many many weeks in the Suffering General, get well soon Colin.
Enjoy your Christmas and New Year, hopefully completely pain free.
Ward 64 loyal. ;D ;D ;D

I started off in ward 67 then got moved to 64 just before the op on Tuesday.

Not bad in hospital if you don't pick up any bugs whilst in there.

I think it's the porter that picks up the bags, Peter.
-
Good to hear it went well, Colin. Enjoy your rest and enjoy your Christmas.
-
What type of hospital do you go to. We have to not only to carry our own bags we have to tell the doctor that they cannot send us home with a drain bottle still sticking out of us.
-
Here's to a speedy recuperation, Colin.
I'm keeping sentences short.
So you don't have to turn
your head.
Have a great Christmas.
-
I watched the Bill Maher show on You Tube the other day.
He and his invited panel were discussing the opening of the world's first ever SIX star hotel, in Vegas.
Maher said "at a six star hotel, when they offer to carry your bag, they mean your scrotum".
One worth passing on, I think. Don't laugh too hard Colin.
-
Poor Colin! I hope this means you will now start to feel better.
Very gentle cyber hugs to you. :)
-
Hope that neck brace is soon covered with Christmas holly etc, knowing your artistic gift. Here's to the start of being pain-free. :-*
-
Hope the treatment works for you, Colin, after all that. Thinking of you, especially over Christmas. Been away for 14 days myself - but much more pleasant experience - New Zealand.
Take care,
Joan

Bloody hell, Colin - now all the birds are after you.
That scar either makes you look rugged, or it's a sympathy vote.

The birds were after me before the op.
I'm getting the staples out today so that should be fun.

Did the op work? Are you feeling better? Were you able to enjoy Christmas/New Year?
Where's the picture of the scar without the staples? I want to see how well you're healing.

Oh, please - do we have to? What if he's wearing the same shirt? :-\
-
Oh look - Tarky-bo-bos is back! Good to see(?) you.
-
Back? Have I been remiss in my posting? I ain't been nowhere (just festivating).

It's "festivitating", please.
-
Tarky-bo-bos festivates - it's his way.
