I'm now getting red crosses x on the main front page... is anyone else or is it just me?
-
Someone's faffing about with it. (Not me I hasten to add). The colours have changed for me.
Added later...: Quite a lot has changed now. It's looking quite good. Not sure about the shi brown colour scheme...
-
It's a work in progress.
-
Is the board working for everyone?

Is the board working for everyone?
How do we know? It'd take an eternity to find that out. ::)
-
What's wrong with brown?
-
Y'know, you blink, look back and the whole world is different!
I quite like the new feel... and I'm not seeing any red crosses x any more!
-
What's wrong with brown?
Haven't you heard? Some CDs have gone missing, there's the Northern Rock crisis, Illegal donations... He's getting a lot of flak from the Tories.
-
Have the colours changed again?
-
Yes, Peepmaster made me change them and now they've gone stupid. It's all his fault.
-
It's a work in progress.
I knew the peaceful forum was too good to last.
You asked what was wrong with brown, Mince. What's wrong is that it looks like an undercoat!
-
Like the new look on the main page but not the crappy brown colour, it matches my t-shirt.
-
He does not know what a undercoat is.
Not D.I.Y compatible
-
Colin, seeing that you have a lot of time on your hands, would you like to change the theme colours yourself? (You will need to know how to change style sheets and images.)

How do I do that then?
I have a forum that I run myself and I would like to change the colours on that.

Can you use photoshop? Can you use style sheets?
-
Can you use photoshop? Can you use style sheets?
I can use PS, but never heard of Style Sheets. :-[
-
Are you okay with RGB and HSL colour values?
-
Are you okay with RGB and HSL colour values?
OK, I dont want the job.
-
RGB = Red Green Blue; HSL = Hue, Saturlation, Luminance; they are on all colour pickers. Usually you would lighten the brown colour by increasing the luminance.
-
Yes I know all about that stuff.

Good grief - the irritating little git has made himself irreplacable with his HTML doohickies - too bad the brown is still shitty.
-
Yes, it's not the degree of luminance of brown we want tweaking, Mince - it's the friggin' colour itself.
I thought your style-sheet code was another of Peter's poems at first.
-
We need to change the yellow background image first. Perhaps a blue background would work.

I thought it was another knitting pattern. :D
-
The yellow's fine, Mincey. Is it a huge task to change the brown?
-
No, it isn't. You just need to change a few images and the colours in the style sheet. But I don't have the time.

...pants on fire!

Here are examples of the images that need changing in colour:

What about brown?
-
Okay, anyone who wants to design their own theme with either the BROWN or BLUE as a template, I can create an extra theme that you can play with to your heart's content (with FTP access) without affecting the main BROWN (and BLUE) theme. As you alter each piece of the theme by FTP upload, you can see how it changes there and then.

I, personally, would be happier if you did it for us. We could then vote on it. If they're all bad, you get voted off at the end of the week. A bit like "I'm Strictly Mince-Factor, Dancing - Get Me Outa Here".
-
It's finished.
-
Dont like it.
-
4/10
Must try harder.
See me.
-
What about this one?
-
NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What you could do is get a picture of all of us and manipulate it to make a bigger picture.
-
Alright, what's going on?
Now there's a background consisting entirely of a Roger caricature multiplied a thousand times.
I should say THE Roger caricature, I've only ever seen one.
There's nothing wrong with pale violet or avocado, you know. At least I'd be able to read the TEXT.
-
I will change it once more, and if it's still no good, I will have to get back to it next week.
-
I've got red crosses again!
-
Neil Bloody Diamond? Am I dreaming all this?
-
It's real! It's very real!
-
It's real! It's very real!
You could have put Terry Wogan.....
-
This is all very nice, but on a multi-image background, especially with lots of dark bits (like Neil Diamond's hair and jacket) it's very hard to make out page numbers and other TEXT, did I mention that before?
-
Click on the HOME tab and choose a theme.
-
I must surely have stumbled into a parallel universe....what red cross? Neil Diamond? Where, where??
-
Click on the HOME tab and choose a theme.
Wow! That's better! Nice lilac/grey background. So soooooothing. Must...must...sleeeeep. 8)
-
I wish my son would leave things alone. I change it to the blue but it keeps gong back to s.....t colour.
The motto is:- if it works don't fix it.
>:( >:( >:(
-
I must surely have stumbled into a parallel universe....what red cross? Neil Diamond? Where, where??
You just wake up and think that the world has gone crazy.
Just think what it is like living with him.
-
It's all your fault Peter - you should have hid your sweeties better so that Mince didn't get this sugar rush.
-
I Hid them but not well enough.
-
THE BLUE KEEPS TURNING BACK TO BROWN AND THE FORUM SUB-TITLES HAVE LITTLE RED CROSSES IN FRONT OF THEM!!!!
-
It works okay for me. Try pressing F5.
-
THE BLUE KEEPS TURNING BACK TO BROWN AND THE FORUM SUB-TITLES HAVE LITTLE RED CROSSES IN FRONT OF THEM!!!!
My brown stays brown, but I still get the red crosses on the forum sub-titles. When I press F5 they just reappear. When I first get to the page however, the red crosses are not there! ??? :-\
-
Why do I get the feeling that everyone thinks this is my fault?
-
It IS your fault! I've pressed F5 and I've still got brown stuff and red crosses.
-
Why do I get the feeling that everyone thinks this is my fault?
I'm not thinking it's your fault... I'm providing valuable information that may help you to resolve the slight technical matter.
-
Don't let him off, Tom. It's his fault. As is the weather and global warming. I blame Mince for everything.
-
Roger, the red boxes might be your hair interfering with your laptop's CPU. Try wearing a bucket on your head.
-
Does it have to be a metal bucket? I've tried it with a plastic one and it doesn't work.
-
Plastic ones work it they are electrified first. Try banging it against your head a few times.
-
:o Now Roger's avatar has been replaced with a red cross x !!! :o
-
It's not fair. I can't see any red crosses.
-
Now my avatar's been replaced by a red cross! You're killing me softly (with your song)!
-
What avatar? You don't have one.
-
It was gone and then it was back and now it's gone again. Help me.
-
It's like we're all slipping into parallel dimensions, as Diamond Lil said! Your avatar is back here again now, Roger!
-
Now it's gone again.
-
Mince, will you stop farting about pretending you're Dr Who upgrading your own personal TARDIS, and put it all back the way it was? Please. Otherwise, I'll be forced to do it for you - and if you think Cybermen can make a mess....
-
Go get 'im, Tarks!
-
You cannot put it back to the original style.
I don't know what happened to Roger's avatar but I've fixed it.
I tried to fix the Beau Peep icons but my FireFTP module trashed that, so I have made replacements until I can work out what's going on.
-
Did you not keep back-ups? ::)
-
Yes, somewhere.
-
Okay - it's not too bad now. Can we just get rid of the brown now, hmmmm? Pretty please (see - I can turn on the mock sincerity when I want to)!
-
By the way, I'm not against change. I even apply it to my socks on a fairly regular basis. I just don't own any brown ones.
-
I am working on a new theme. Give me a few days.
I'll try to cut down on the brown.
-
I'll be honest: it's not going too well.
-
Nope, definitely not. It's late. Good night.
-
why is it that when i go bed all hell get loose on the board and I miss it
-
why is it that when i go bed all hell get loose on the board and I miss it
You missed the point, Peter. Mince is waiting for you to go to bed so he can create havoc - steal sweeties, change the board.... you know the kind of thing. :D
-
yes he never in bed till 2 am I think he phones his lady friend when we go to bed
