As I'm sure you all know, a Jim Carrey blockbuster called "The Number 23" is about to hit our screens this week. It makes the point that this number is magical, mystical, all-powerful and the answer to everything that has ever happened in the Universe.
I was born on the 23rd of June.
Beau Peep first appeared 2/11/1978. If you multiply the day by the month and add the first number of the year, you get...23.
A Man Called Horace first appeared 4/5/1989. If you add the middle four numbers, you get...23.
If you add up the letters in "The Daily Star An' The Mirror", you get...23.
On the 23rd of June, 1974,,,I was 23.
This Friday---just two days after I write this---will be the 23rd.
There have been 20 Beau Peep books...just three short of 23.
Coincidence? I think not.

Now count your brain cells, Roger. Scary, or what?
-
Actually, it should be 17, but that's freakin' Hollywood for you.
-
This is all rather unnerving.
I'm the Peepmaster, and I was 23 once. If you reverse the same numbers you get 32 - a number that also once correlated to an age I happened to be.
What's more, Sutherland The Peepmaster = 23 characters!
It just goes on and on...
-
How apt...
-
Scary stuff indeed.
Now I'll need to get my calculator out to see if I have any 23's.
I need a calculator as I haven't been able to add up since I was 5..........

Call me old-fashioned but I believe that Douglas Adams had it right when he said that 42 is the answer to the meaning of life.
-
I don't want to start an international incident or nuthin' but 42 is totally polluted by a multitude of denominators.
17 I tell you!

17 I tell you!
That's interesting. If you add the individual constituent figures in each of those numbers, (4 & 2; 1 & 7) you get a completely different number in both cases - 6 & 8, neither of which are the same. However, combined, they add up to 14, which just happens to be the first figures in each original number (42 & 17), but reversed! I've always found maths fascinating.

I'm sure it's mutual.

What day is it?
-
Monday - unless you're reading this tomorrow, then it's Tuesday.
-
My total time logged in is 23 hours 23 minutes.
-
Mine is 28 hours and 6 minutes. So there - there's nothing in it.
-
4 days, 10 hours and 31 minutes . . . and I need a life.
