In the first frame of today's strip in The Daily Star, Egon is cheerfully saying to Beau "Congratulations me!" I would like to point out that, in my original script, I used the more familiar "congratulate me". Maybe, as Andrew was lettering the strip, Cliff Richard was belting out his famous ditty on the radio and he got distracted.
Anyway, it's all Andrew's fault.
-
Maybe if Andrew didn?t have to curtsy at you the time dear Sun King, he could see what he was doing and not make so many cock ups. I beg for leniency on his behalf.
-
Dear Sun King.
I like that.
-
I'd get my own back and ruin one of his cartoons.
-
It's been argued that I do that daily with my writing.
-
That's what I was going to say. Only snappier.
-
Get your own back by having the Tour de France come through the fort. Have a whole week's worth of strips on the theme, with loads of bikes in each frame.
-
For the benefit of those who don't buy the Star, and also to embarrass Andrew, here's the strip...

And did Andrew miss out the word 'Sioux' in the first frame of today's Horace? Apologies, Roger, if not!

Yep! And I've already told the big idiot. He claimed something called "word blindness". Idiot.
-
Come on, Roger! Give the guy some slack. There's a whole 25 words there to check.
-
:) I read today's Horace and thought something didn't seem right, but could'nt say what! Now I see it! :)
And the Beau Peep strip reads correct if there was a comma after 'congratulations' and an exclamation mark after 'me'. I very often say "Congratulations, me!" (usually followed by a "Yay!") when I do something well!
-
You're right, Tom---the mistake in the Beau strip was something we could just about get away with---the mistake in Horace today makes a huge difference to the whole gag. Andrew was REALLY apologetic when I spoke to him.

Andrew was REALLY apologetic when I spoke to him.
What did he say? "Hey, live with it!"?

What did he say? "Hey, live with it!"?
Well, he meant to, but it came out as "Hey, liverpool with it!".
-
That's strange---Andrew was in Liverpool last weekend!

LOL - I live that.... ;D

Spot the deliberate mistake in this series from last week:

The second one made me laugh.

"Pottery" club and "weasles". I know! I know!

Reminds me of MY Pottery mix-up (http://www.redbubble.com/people/nigelsutherland/works/376532-cartoon-pottery-class-not-poetry)

The second one made me laugh.
I vote for the first. I love the "silent" middle box where there's no speech. They always seem to be the funniest strips. ;D ;D
-
Well, if we're picking favourites, mine is the penultimate one. I always enjoy the shift from weariness to sarcasm to simple blunt insult.

That's why us guys get married, Jack. :-[

I wonder if Andrew had a dodgy Channel 5 programme on in the background when he was lettering one of the words in frame 2 of today's strip ;D :

Pedantry aside, I just love Dennis's dopey expression.
And for just for Sandy ('cos Granny's in it), today's cracking Horace strip:

Ah Granny! What a !@!*!

PS. Is it wrong to fancy Granny? :-[
Depends. If you mean Horace's, then yes. If you mean your own, get a grip!
