Brilliant.  Thank you for that.  It just goes to show how much talent there is out there in the world.

Great stuff. As I'm sure you remember, that's one of my all-time favourite songs.

Well done, Steve, a great vid. I let it run through, then wondered if, by some amazing coincidence my guitar might be in tune so I could play along? The amazing coincidence occurred, the guitar was tuned to the guy's vid (it's in C) and I had a great time strumming away feeling like I was part of some global Live Aid gig.

Braw.

Glad you enjoyed it as much as I did, guys. I've watched it several times now, and can't stop smiling and foot-tapping throughout. Sadly, I can't play a note on anything more musical than a kazoo, but I do admit to singing along. It didn't enhance it one bit, but did I care... ?

Oh, what the heck - let's all play it again. Ready? A-one...two...three...four........

It's one of my favourites.  However, I am forbidden by act of Parliament from singing in public (or even in private) as the sounds would constitute a public menace.  I can't even play the comb and paper, although I was able to reconstitute 'Greensleeves' on a keyboard, then gave up as too much hard work.  I leave the artistic skills to others more gifted than I. :-[ :-X :'(

Funnily enough, Malcom, I was reading an article only this morning about Australians being "No. 1 for singing. (http://www.news.com.au/national/australia-ranked-world-number-one-for-sinning/story-e6frfkvr-1225824525361)"

At least that's what I thought it said!

Yeah, but with Malc in their team, how can we ever compete?

It'll be night time in Australia, so having a go at Malc now would be quite a cheap shot.

We could always post stuff and delete it before he wakes up.

What's wrong with doing it while he's awake, and not deleting it? Like we usually do?

You really are missing Mince, aren't you, Peeps? You've lost your edge.

Maybe Mince really has got a bird.

I like clicking the wee arrows below Tarquin's avatar and making him go from side to side.

What a brilliant idea, Roger. If you use the slider, it looks as if he's banging his head on the walls of his little box!  ;)

That's what he does in real life.

I'm missing out on something here... what arrows?

It's a Scottish expression.

Tarquin's avatar is too large for the viewable area, hence the left and right arrows at the bottom with a 'slider' in the middle.  But then you knew that anyway, and I'm just wasting my time.

Bilthehut, I haven't the foggiest what you are on about... left and right arrows and slider bar... Tarquin's avatar fits the viewable area just fine.

I do tune in in widescreen though, so if you are all viewing in normal screen that would explain it... but I thought all of the avatars were of a set size...

Maybe you can adjust the settings for the size of the avatar viewing window?  I just know that I see Tarks avatar as a picture with the 'slidey thing and arrows ...

I'm using a different computer now, and see what you mean. It must have something to do with the widescreen thing.

Very true. I was known as Golden Boots.

While you lot are coming up with acres of guff bon mots to counter that, I'll go and brew a pot of my own blend coffee, Chaussures D'Or.

I've just watched this for the third time and it really is a great video. The Dutch guy (Bekker? Dekker?) has a wonderful voice but it's a truly inspired compilation.
I remember Malc and I discussing this song on here some years ago. Malc preferred the John Lennon version while, much as I love it, I've got to go with the Ben E. King original---simply because of the bass line which Lennon omitted and, for me, makes the song.
And I stand by that. (Geddit???)
