I think it's time I got into football and showed an interest.
Roger, how are Dundee County doing (and notice how I did not confuse them with Dundee Town) and when are they playing at Wombles Stadium?
-
Mince, thank you for asking.
Dundee County have a rather important fixture on Sunday (a Scottish cup quarter final) against one of Glasgow's Forces of Evil---the blue ones who sing rude things about that chappie in The Vatican.
I expect you to take note of what happens and report back on Monday.

Dundee Country are playing the Smurfs?

Dundee Country? are playing the Smurfs?
Yup. And perhaps they'll win this time!

Who are the Smrifs?
-
Who are the Smrifs?
A modern musical band, fronted by Missorry, who have fared quite well in the Hit Parade. Do try to keep up.

Just to keep it in line with the thread.

Hopefully Dundee County will win the replay against the dark side.

I imagine Roger will be skipping home from Tannadice tonight!
-
I am a happy chap tonight. I wonder if Mince will return to give his expert analysis of the game.
-
I'm more looking forward to Colin's analysis of the St. Mirren game.
-
;D

So happy for Dundee County's win over the Teddy Berrs, well deserved I'm sure, and I'm doubly happy for any score that stops the SPL becoming a procession, i.e. Rangers, Celtic guaranteed top, and it's all about who comes third.
As for Celtic, I'm still a fan, but stopped really caring about them (see above) preferring to follow Kilmarnock, my local team for the emotional ups and downs desired by all true masochists. There are some real Celts over here, though - no matter if Celtic won every year since records began, their pro-Celt ardour would never be quenched. In their minds, Mowbray was fired long ago, it's only a matter of time before reality catches up with their imagination. I give him another week.

...you're close. I think he's packing his jotters and cleaning out his locker as we speak

I thought of a great newspaper headline on seeing the photos of Tony as they got thumped by the Buddies.
Meltin' Mowbray.
I should do that sort of thing for a living.
-
I'm not too fussed about the St Mirren score the other night to be honest.
It was the final nail in the coffin for Tony Mowbray so at least something good came from the result.
I heard a Celtic fan on the radio saying that he wanted Rangers to beat Dundee Utd and for Celtic to beat Rangers in the final to stop the treble. RUBBISH.
The sooner they went out then the happier I became. The treble is no more.
I know the league is over but at least Celtic and Dundee Utd still have the Scottish Cup Final to look forward to. (if they both get there)
-
4-1. That's all I have to say about that. ;D
-
A great night for you, Tarks. When I saw the result, I nearly phoned you but my eyeballs had popped out so far, I couldn't read your number.

This analysis is of the Dundee County game against the football team they played against. Please do not get confused between Dundee County and Dunday, who play nearby at Dennis Park. Dundee County are the ones who have oranges painted on their kit and wear the "lion rambling" design, with the lion facing left, reared up and ferociously attacking with its girly slaps.

The game was played at Ten Dice Park (their homeground located on Ten Dice Street in the Clapped-Out area of the city). Dundee Country gave a superb performance, with Prince Bauble scoring several overhead lobs well clear of the back of the net before being snookered behind the off-side. Wee Willie (the Captain) tackled over forty opponents, getting a ball every time, and shared these forty balls between his eleven men, and this was his first division.
Dundee Countray have indeed played well this year, and might win a promotion to the Ninth Decision if they are not regulated back down to where they belong currently play.

The "Sportswriter Of The Year" award is in the bag.

Brilliant reporting, Mince! You've missed your vacation.

Thanks, Roger! It was rather pleasing. I'm sure Colin enjoyed it as much as I did.
All we need now is for your lot to roll over at McDiarmid Park next Monday night, and Aberdeen to lose the plot the following Sunday, and we might just sneak into the top cut. Heady times!
-
Great win for Dundee Rovers tonight too! These are heady days for the minnows of Scotland. Perhaps the pilchard of England could commentate on these results too.

Peeps, don't push it. Mince used more words in the last post than he has all year (and maybe last year!!!) He's probably lying down in a darkened room to recover!

Plus it's difficult to write with one of those special jackets on.

How's that going then? Any updates?

No, there's no change. Mince is still wearing his special jacket!

I can't afford to laugh at Celtic yet in case United get humped tomorrow. I've contented myself with a snigger.

I was staying in Glasgow on Friday night and was a bit taken aback at breakfast the next morning at how uniform everyone seemed to look until I realised most of Dingwall must have stayed the previous night and what I was seeing was a sea of Ross County sweatshirts, scarves etc. Oh how I wish I had been staying Saturday night too..what a party!!
-
My team also play today, but the importance of the game has now been taken away by the Hearts result yesterday. So I can afford to laugh...

I was out and about when I saw the result on my phone. I actually experience and involuntary sharp intake of breath, which had my nearest and dearest momentarily concerned for my welfare. Stunning result!
-
I see Dundee United are winning. Goodwillie having put it away.
-
Congratulations, Roger - you must be delighted!
Except that you are now in the position of supporting the team every non-Tangerine football fan on the planet will be willing to lose on Cup Final Day. And should United win...well, who'd expect anything else? Raith Rovers in the semi, Ross County in the final? Who's going to remember the giants you beat on the way there, such as Rangers and St Johnstone? Oh, dear - bet you're wishing Celtic had made it now. ;)
Another good win for the Saints again today though...
-
A fine weekend.
United in a Cup Final and a tenner each way on the winner of the Grand National. (At the early odds of 20-1, I might add).

I knew you'd be happy for me, Fydo.

Yet MORE boring Scottish football from last night...
