Title: And I'd Like To Thank....
Post by: Roger Kettle on May 18, 2007, 08:13:18 PM
On ebay at the moment, there are a couple of Horace books for sale. They are described as "award-winning strips". This is news to me but I'm certainly not going to miss the opportunity....
I'd like to thank my family. Without their love and support, none of this would have been possible. Of course, I owe everything to my friend and fellow cartoonist, Andrew Christine----THANKS, BIG GUY! But most of all, I'd like to thank you, the readers...sob...there are so many...sniff...Diane... Col...Tom...Peeps ...Tarks...Mincey...Fyodor...Elizabeth...Diamond Lil...Rob...and the millions of others I've forgotten! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Never heard of that word or meaning here in Oz.
Mooloo men were half men half bull-like creature in Maori folklore, but that's the nearest I could get.

Woolloomooloo is a district of Sydney and there were all sorts of debates as to which aboriginal word(s) it stemmed from until a researcher discovered there was a windmill on the site and that the aborigines couldn't pronounce the word "windmill", hence woolloomooloo.

The famous Nullarbor plain which stretches across southern Australia doesn't have an aboriginal name either. "Nullarbor" is Latin -Null Arbor, which means "no trees".

There's a terrorist leader called Mullah Dadullah. I often thought he should live in Ulladulla. People would meet his relatives overseas and say "are you related to the Ulladullah Dadullahs?
They'd reply "wish I had adullah for every time I've been asked that".
