Happy New Year! I am really looking forward to it as the temps are supposed to jump like 20 degrees tomorrow - been in a week long deep freeze here.

We had a thaw for about a week - in that time I drove about 1200 km round trip two night to see the relatives with me doing most of the driving whilst hubby slept. Got back to yet another cold snap with wind chills reaching -48C so I stayed in my hermitage for 5 days practicing the Danish art of hygge.

Nice again now.  (y)

Probably innocent enough, just brought the young un to look at my xmas tree through the window. At this point the tree is still up for a scientific experiment - almost as fresh as the day my daughter cut it down 5 weeks ago, it has been living on a diet of pennies and pop.

You're feeding it money?

Yes, I am feeding the tree money; pennies which are no longer legal tender in Canada - we were supposed to hand them back to the banks as they cost 1.5 cents to make a cent. Tomorrow is 6 weeks for the tree - starting to loose some needles if it gets bumped but not a major amount, still green and subtle with the branches. I may have to look into hanging Valentine's decorations on it.

Always a good idea to have a sound money-tree policy.

Thank you - I'm hear all weak....

I thought 'legal tender' was a Scottish patriotic cry.
