Title: Yorkshire Tea
Post by: Diane CBPFC on July 01, 2018, 07:01:07 AM
So many of the tea and hygge facebook groups mention Yorkshire Tea - I finally broke down and bought a box of it - it was pretty good, quite strong.

But you have to wonder why Yorkshire gets the credit for it when it isn't grown there.

It's all about marketing - it's selling a sense of old-fashioned nostalgic tradition.

It's like Häagen-Dazs: it's a completely made-up name trying to convey tradition and craftsmanship with a dash of the European with the double "a" and the umlaut. Kodak is also completely made up.

I think you need to ask the founder of Yorkshire, Donald Trump.

I miss the NAAFI tea we could get.  At one time it was even sold in Tesco.  It was a good strong cuppa.

Yorkshire is not even where it's imported to.

I hate strong tea. One teabag could quite easily see me through a week.

What's your technique? Do you hang them on washing lines to dry them out?
