Does anyone have any suggestions for changes to this board?
-
So no one objects to my idea of filling the background with carrots, and changing every occurence of the word "Kettle" to "halibut"?

You could add a request for everyone to send me ?500...
-
I can't think of any changes that are needed at present (well not involving carrots, halibut or ?500...).
I do have a question though. On the "Beau Peep Notice Board" banner at the very top of the screen, in the right-hand corner just above the date and time, I see a red X. When I right-click and select show picture, I see a red X. What should I be seeing? Am I missing something really important?
???

It should look like this:

Does anyone else get this problem?

I just have a little question mark. Nothing happens when I click it though.
-
Are you using a PC or a MAC? Which browser are you using?
For me it works in Opera and Firefox.
But having just tried that pile of crap called Internet Explorer, I now get the red X. I shall fix that.
-
I use the Safari browser. Mac.
-
It's Internet Explorer at fault. (And Safari, if you're getting it as well.)
It should be fixed now.
Oh, and, er, next time, tell me sooner. Do you really think I would go to all the trouble with the background, icons and colour and then leave a big dumb red X at the top of the screen?

Mine was a big dumb question mark actually!

Oh, well, that's okay then.
-
Thanks, Mince, the red X has gone now. I was just intrigued as to what it was...
-
This hardly needs saying but I have no idea what any of you is talking about.
-
It's technical, Roger. It involves spotting red Xs at the top of a screen, and I think that's way beyond you. Leave it to us experts.
-
Okay.
-

It's nice to see someone who knows that words like "everyone" and "anyone" and "no one" are singular.
-
Thank you.
-
Sorry, but that red X is back again. Must've been the move.
-
So is my white question-mark on a graded blue background encased within a white box frame with a thin cobalt-blue outline.
-
Can you be more specific, Peepsy?
Mine's fine.
-
That should be sorted now.

What is this online/offline indicator all about ? does it only show up when I am on this particular site or on the internet in general? I would prefer not to have that information broadcast next to my name or in fact even known by Mince ? how do I opt out?
-
Diane, I think it shows only if you're on this website. Most forums show who is online (at that forum at the time). I show as being on here for hours sometimes because I sometimes forget to close the window.
-
What's puzzling me now is this "Esteem" thing. What does zero mean? I'm getting even nosier by the second.
-

It only shows for the fifteen minutes after you do something on the board. Someone is "online" if s/he has done something on this board (such as view posts or make a post) in the previous 15 minutes. It does NOT indicate when you are on the internet in general. The "online" changes to "offline" if you log out.

You could become a trusted admin of this board. Then you can hide your online status. :D

You'll contract hypothermia. Either that, or you'll just contract.
-
Dianne, you will also find that the old board did the same thing.

Works for me - lets do that then.
Another thing that bothers me is how it tells you how much of your life you have wasted here at Camel Dung - so far for me 1 hour and 7 minutes.
-
1 days, 21 hours and 43 minutes of me being logged into the site. Seems longer...

Not necessarily "wasted" Diane. You could be doing the ironing at the same time.
-
Ohhhh, that'll get her alright. ;D
7 hours 12 mins.
-
Colin, your avatar is mildly upsetting.
10 hours and 57 minutes.

Colin, your avatar is mildly upsetting.
Why?
-
I can't put my finger on it. Sadly.
