Bunyips appropriate many items of human detritus, such as car tyres, umbrellas, shoes, etc, and use them in a unique way. Tyres, for instance, are very popular as frames or wall ornaments, especially with hubcaps, which double as frisbees.
The main modes of transport for Bunyips are tricycles, scooters or skateboards, owing to their short legs. Bunyips are not fast walkers, but can leap huge distances from a standing position.
No suckling takes place after a Bunyip birth owing to (a) the baby having a full set of teeth and (b) the mother having no mammary glands.
Therefore Bunyips are not mammals. Luckily the infant is able to fend for itself from day one.
Bunyip babies are violent, vicious, short tempered and devious. They can usually only be handled by their mothers, but on occasion a babysitter can be left in charge, as long as the baby is caged at all times.
The first three years are the worst.
