Take care of the pennies . . .

. . . is an amazing motto, and we make sure we don't waste a single penny. My wife is the queen of special deals, two-for-ones, and free meals. We shake our heads at the amount of money others waste - we worked out that my parents literally throw away about £2000 a year for no reason whatsoever, simply because they're too lazy to take care of the pennies.

I am cheap in the way I will buy bags of "Christmas" jelly beans on sale after the holidays and separate the green ones from the red and white ones, thus giving me a candy supply for both Valentine's Day and St. Patty's.
