How to spoil a party - finale
« on: July 01, 2018, 06:39:07 PM »
I recently found out that an old friend has Alzheimers,  and is at the stage where he doesn’t really know me, most of the time at least. I find Alzheimers and Dementia to be the most heinous crimes age inflicts upon us.,,and so…

Another day in this “Paradise”
Though I might have spelt that wrong
Another day in Paradise
And another mindless song

Fantasies of what might have been
Are all that sustain me now
Reality is lost to me
This is all my world allows

Broken body, broken mind
A punishment of time
Locked inside a human tomb
With age the only crime
Patronised and ostracised
By the world that I once knew
A padded chair
And a bed with rails
And remembered by so few

I look at how bright my life has been
As the memories slowly dim
The loves, the lies, the joys, the pain
All these things I’ve seen

As the world revolves and time is lost
The wisdom gained at such a cost
As your body fails and the mind decays
Until your trapped inside these endless days

Fantasies of what might have been
As memories fracture and fade
But oh my life you still linger still
As the price of age is paid

Have a good day :)  Sadly I will be back, hopefully fully restored to my previous comedic genius...

Hope you are okay Red.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad
