been busy
« on: May 19, 2010, 06:27:14 PM »
I spent the last two weekends from Friday to Sunday taking my son to the city to get his lifeguard certificate, they changed the start time after we joined so had to get up at 5:30 AM each day. Anyway after all that hanging around all day in the city he failed because he wasn't loud and communicative enough - at least that's what I think he said, as he is quiet and mumbles.

Anyway we are back off to a different town for the next two weekends to do the same thing. This town is about a 1 hour 40 m drive away. I am not much looking forward to it.

Soccer went well last week - the team was slaughtered but I was much more in tune with what was going on. My sister mailed me a soccer loud speaker that plays Ole Ole - so I will take that along tomorrow and use it when our team gets a goal.

I did good at Toastmasters this past year - winning 8 Table Topics speaches - this is where they ask you a question and you answer it off the cuff. THat was a lot of fun.
Tonight is the AGM for the library and we are having a pot luck supper - as chair I have to give a little speach and bring dessert.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

...ran out of space and then the phone rang.

also I am hoping that three of my dogs are pregnant - have to wait another few weeks to know for sure.

Then this past Saturday was my son's dinner and Prom for leaving High School. He looked very nice in his suit - they also do a graduation ceremony in June when they get their diploma and that will be when all the relatives come up and we do a BBQ

Same son had all four wisdom teeth out last Tuesday and swim club started - which means that my other two kids need to get into town for an hour a day. My daughter will probably going to a few swim meets this year as she is fast for her age group.

I had three mandalas hung in the gallery for our local artists spring show - that was cool.

I have also been busy getting all my dogs their spring hair cuts and keeping up with baths and starting my daughter on a new English program to help with her reading disability.

It is a long weekend here so we have Monday off for "Victoria Day" - traditionally I hang up my Union Jack and make strawberry tarts.

and this has been Diane reporting in from the C.B.P.F.C.

Phew, Diane! I'm exhausted just reading that, even though I knew a lot of it already.  What Diane didn't mention, folks, is that while she's doing all these other things, she's also cooking and baking a variety of delectible sounding goodies.

Fingers crossed for the puppies, Diane.  Good luck to both life saving son and soccer team.  Hope wisdom teeth holes are all healed and congratulations all round for everything else!

You need a day off, Diane. How does September 17th look?

Feet up. Relax. Think about poor Roger having to make his own coffee. Try not to feel guilty...
I apologise, in advance.

Sept 17 is my nephew's birthday.  :D

It just sounds busy - my husband thinks I'm lazy and I am compared to him.  :)

I was just elected the board chair for another year, first they buttered me up, then they nominated me whilst I was still glowing from the flattery - I must remember that tip for next year.

Diane - are you finishing the first draft of your book on "Time Management" during the night?

Well I don't have a real job and my housekeeping is the bare basics - so that is how I have time to do the other stuff.
