Yes, Beau Peep is my favourite British strip, and that's not to qualify my statement in a mealy-mouthed fashion, I loved Calvin &Hobbes, Peanuts too, but they're go-o-o-rn. I also do like Pearls Before Swine, Get Fuzzy and LOVE Cul De Sac in the States.

Beau Peep's appearance on the scene had a huge instructional aspect, for me. It demonstrated that a feature COULD appear out of the blue that made you sit up and notice, look forward to it every day, and (as a result) buy the paper to read it. Beau Peep upset the apple cart, as it was totally unlike the Perishers/Fred Basset genteel, bland school of English writing. I'm sorry to say there hasn't been a strip with its impact since.
