It's 10am on Christmas Eve and I'm about to embark on a series of chores - don't feel very Christmasy at all at the moment - one of which is finishing off the Christmas tree, which only went up last night. Got a bit delayed this year, because our 14 year old lab, Ben, gave us a bit of a scare last Thursday/Friday/Saturday and collapsed, literally - couldn't get up without help. He was at the vet for Friday night and we really thought his time had come. Miracles do happen, cos on Saturday morning, he was up and walking again and pulling on his lead. We got to bring him home and he has steadily improved since then - back to his old old self (as opposed to his old young self). Must be the antibiotics and steroids he's on - could do with some myself, I think! He does look a bit different - had a crew cut because they thought it might have been a tick that was causing the problem and they couldn't find one, so they shaved him just to make sure, poor boy! Still, good for the hot weather, which we're actually not getting at the moment - good for tomorrow.
My daughter is behaving like a 3 year old, trying to annoy me - I have to go, will come back later. Hubby is outside mowing the lawns at the moment - that's the trouble with here, you have to take care of the outside as well as the in at Christmas.
I'm just going to stick the Christmas cds on, just to annoy Kate - that'll learn her! Oh, I'm being nice to the dog - that's the only one I feel like being nice to at the moment - maybe tomorrow. We're having turkey (just the buffe type breast) with all the trimmings, pudding and I'll be having my Christmas G&T at about 11am, as things are hotting up in the kitchen, made by my well trained hubby.
If I don't make it back here - strong possibility - have a lovely Christmas everyone, with heaps of good cheer!
