No, I think this refers to the story of a young woman who outbid all-comers in an auction to manage a Blue Square League team for one match day. Don't worry - Dundee United are safe...for now.

I reckon it's a publicity stunt for the football club. Either that, or her husband's brought on a substitute to do the household duties.  ..0

Okay - so she comes home one Saturday, dead proud, because she's kept a clean sheet. Most women keep a whole bl**dy drawer of them once they've done the ironing!

I ran a kids' soccer club for seven years. 250 - 290 players; 30 - 40 coaches/assistants; usually around 18 teams. I ordered in their team shirts, made up the game schedules, did coaches clinics, sorted out the insurance (thus was the manager for insurance purposes with the ASA of all the teams), some years I even coached, painted the lines and put the photos in the paper.

All you need is a bit of a system really. Soccer managing is easier than spring cleaning, that's for sure.
