Cats
« on: January 11, 2010, 07:43:23 AM »
Household cats are all just about the same size whilst dogs vary from a few pounds to over a hundred.

Why do you think cats are small? Would you trust living with a household cat if they were bred to 60lb?  90lb?

I got thinking about this because I can't sleep - the bloody fish are saying Bob, Bob, Bob much too loudly.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

I'm sure manta-rays don't say Bob.

Household cats, although physically small. have an unlimited ability to annoy. Pound for pound, they are the most annoying species on earth, narrowly pushing game show hosts into second place.

I like cats. But no matter how cute and soft they are, they will dig a sharp claw in you every now and then. I think they do this to remind us that they are really in charge.

Joanna Lumley did a two-part show 'Catwoman' a few months ago, I found it fascinating.

Some people are cruel to them though. One woman in Japan dresses them up as bunny rabbits and other things, and another woman somewhere in the USA, I think, breeds large household cats with very short legs. She says they don't mind.

I never understood the point of a cat as a pet.

I don't like cats or dogs myself, but I can at least understand some of the reasons people have for wanting a dog. A faithful little companion, who is always glad to see you. Well-trained, sometimes. They seem to have they're own personalities, and they're always around when you want them. Plus, they can attack burglars.

A cat just disappears off, skulking around the neighbourhood, and you never see it. Except of course, when it turns up wanting something to eat. Then you feed it, and it disappears again. I may be wrong, but I thought that's what kids were for?

The only reason I can think of for buying a cat is if you hate all your neighbours and want to annoy them. Because while you'll never see the damn thing, your neighbours will be constantly shooing it out of their garden and getting fed up with it harassing their fish/rabbits/garden birds.

Domestic cats are small by nature, Calvin. It's only when 'man' puts his grubby litte fingers in that 'nature' is buggered up!

The big ones are what they call "big cats", in the wild. They're big!

I just realised, I've never seen a cat and a vulture in the same room. That would be interesti

I DID quantify the domestic cat as being usually small!

I am extremely fond of cats - I had to re-home my last cat when I moved into this small flat.  :'(

I do, however, have a tattoo of a lion on my arm; it keeps me company and doesn't need feeding and cleaning!  :)

Blimey. Have you got "LOVE" and "HATE" on your knuckles, too?
