The Quest to understand you lot
« on: February 04, 2010, 04:50:40 PM »
Boy, has it been quiet this afternoon.

I have managed to read/scan/ignore the outpouring threads and am now up to page 25 and 'Dundee United', which I shall ignore as it is obviously about football.

Off home now to shop for some ingredients to make the most dangerous cake in the world in my new BP mug.  The other one is at work and has been christened with a lovely coffee.

You have to write a thesis about Dundee United to attain entry to the second level on this forum. People usually do it within three months. Didn't Mince email the form?
Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

A lot of people assume Dundee United are a football team, until they see them.

From reading past threads, all you had to do was be nasty to the Peepmaster.  Remember, Peeps, the wife reminds me I am a trained killer (at least in origami) and can track you down, given enough intelligence assets such as UAVs, recce units, brain cells.

Not everyone here likes football (including Mince), and as he did not send me a form, I have to assume the thesis is a downright blatant lie.  And there I was going to pimp another two females for this forum, all avid Beau Peep fans (one of which is the present Mrs H, the other is 23, unattached, attractive, purple belt in kick boxing and still not left the nest).

Anyway, I thought Dundee United was a cake manufacturer?

Bill, I'd advise you to avoid the site this weekend, given your lack of interest in football. My team, Dundee United, play Tarquin's team, St. Johnstone, in the Scottish Cup on Saturday. Things could get nasty.

I'm starting now. Mince is a pilchard.

I don't 'do' football either... I had to google 'Scottis Cup' to see whether it exists or was a typo. It exists.

The only two reasons I don't like football are:
1.  The exorbitant amount the footballers and other beneficiaries of 'the beautiful game' get paid - at the expense of the supporters.
2.  They hype about it being so wonderful and the only game.
Hang on.  Make that three.
3.  Why is it a 'beautiful game' when they get up to such despicable antics on and off the pitch.

On a plus side it is a game that can be played almost anywhere (I bet if we had had astronauts on the moon they would have had a kickabout - and not just tried to hit a little ball with a  stick).  It is probably the most widely played game in the world and by the greatest range of people.

My dad used to be a class 1 Army Referee.

When we were fighting the Argentinians in the Falklands, I don't think they had a referee! ..0

Yes. Go back to April 2005 and read it all again, but slower!
