What was going on in the world that day that so many people checked out Beau Peep?
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Well, I don’t know about July 8th 2008, but quite a few important events have occurred on this date over the years, such as:
  • In 1860, America had its first confirmed tornado in Massachusetts
  • In 1776, the Declaration of Independence was read aloud in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Liberty Bell was rung
  • A UFO crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947
  • In 1898, crime boss Soapy Smith was shot
  • And in 1099, 15,000 starving Christian soldiers marched around Jerusalem in the First Crusade
There must be something that connects these events...  :-\

The most obvious connection to Beau Peep would be the UFO, but that is probably what they want us to think...

Hmmm...

Joan Osborne was born on the 8th July, and Pepin, King of Italy died many years earlier in 810.

Is that the day Peeps posted his karaoke version of of the song Dance the Night Away in this forum? I can be wrong, the number of days he tried to perform/sing/murder the song, I choose not to remember ;D

No, I think that was the day after this one, Lucy. We've never had more than seven people online simultaneously since.
I apologise, in advance.
