When we're ready to play, each person makes a statement to their direct opponent, who then has to guess whether it's true or false.

For example, if Mints is put up against Tranquil, he might make the statement that "he has a degree in astrophysics". Tranquil might guess that it's false. If it is indeed false, Tranquil's team gets the "goal" scored. If Tranquil is wrong, and Mints does indeed have the astrophysics degree, then the "goal" is awarded to the Ballet team.

The guy giving the statement gives it to a neutral third party, in advance" along with the "answer". I'm also trusting that folk will be honest!

I can't see how this is going to work. Over the years we've all prattled on about what we do, what we've done, what we think, etc. A) it's going to be really hard to think of a statement that's suitable for mixed company, and B) to think of something that we haven't mentioned before!

Or have I misconstrued the point of this 'game'?

Peepmaster, is this meant to be girls against boys? If it is, then I ought to point out that not only have you wrongly put me in the girls' team but you've also wrongly put yourself in the boys' team.

There you go, Vulch. You could say something as simple as "I never wear socks on a Sunday". It might be true, for all we know. I am hoping that people will be genuine with the truths/fibs they make.

I resent that remark.  I can count - 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, 110, 111, 1000, 1001, 1010, etc.
