Mini-van for Sale

Mini-van for Sale
No mileage... at all this week.
Winter-fresh scent throughout.
Your guess is as good as mine as to colour, make and model.
Offers. Will consider trade for a dig-out and ride to the Jeep store.

Did I mention that I haven't left the farm for 8 days now?
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Did I say we had snow here last week? :-\  I meant in the sense of a dusting of icing sugar on a sponge cake, in comparison to you.  Stay warm and safe

Diamond Lil - I heard on the radio today that the snowfall is reaching the historic high of 1974 - this is more than I have ever seen.

Vulture - the funny thing about snow is that there are so many kinds - this is light powdery stuff and it is too cold for it to bond. Have to wait for a big melt to make snowpeople.

I am up in the middle of the night these days heating up warming pads for my 3 week old puppies who were sick with diareah. They love cuddling up on them.

Is that centimetres or inches?

I may be interested in the van. Always wanted heated wing mirrors.
I apologise, in advance.

The amazing thing I found about the snow in Canada (well, Toronto..) is that there's not a sign of it when you go to bed but when you get up in the morning, you're thigh deep in it! AND, no matter how early you get up, the snow ploughs have already been out and done their jobs!

There is a sad funeral in Toronto today for a police officer that was killed by someone who stole a snowplow and deliberatley ran him down.

I am dug out of the snow mound and hubby cleared the yard - it has been 10 days since I have been out and 2 weeks since I have been to the mail or grocery shopped. Yippy - I'm free!

This past week I have delt with snow digging, killing mice (59) and the medical parts of keeping pups alive (sub-cutanious needles and stomach tubes). I am pretty proud of myself - I hardly cried at all.

Aww thanks Diamond Lil - but it was a much worse week for the mice.  ;)

I could take the snow, dealing with needy pups and being cooped up for days on end...but definitely not 59 mice!!!

It was so nice to get to town yesterday. The snow is piled high in the middle of the streets - like 8-10' - I this this should help crack down on the jaywalking problem.

I got a stack of mail! I felt a bit like the Queen with such a pile of correspondance to open. I was so pleased to see people that I almost hugged the ladies at the Post Office.

It was my turn to be Toastmaster and it was "Thesaurus Day"
Quote
Today is Thesaurus Day – a day celebrating the 232nd birthday of the founder of the first Thesaurus, Mr. Peter Roget who was born on this day in 1779.
I would like to wish you all a Happy Thesaurus Day; no, that’s not quite right I would like to wish you all...
A content, pleased, glad, joyful, cheerful, in high spirits, blissful, exultant, ecstatic, delighted, jovial and on-cloud-nine Thesaurus Day!
and I made the coffee - they missed the coffee the past two weeks when I was not able to make it, it was nice to feel like a such a crucial part of society once again.

Crucial, Diane? Surely you mean acute, central, climacteric, compelling, decisive, essential, high-priority, imperative, insistent, momentous, necessary, pivotal, urgent, vital...

(Courtesy of Roget Kettle's Thesaurus... or is that Roget Boiler... Cauldron... Pot... Steamer... Vat... Vessel...?)
I apologise, in advance.

Talking about word alternatives, this true story popped back into my head. Fyodor can vouch for this. A friend of ours began a conversation with "Did you see that programme last night on...on...". His mind went completely blank and, in desperation, he mimed a square shape in the air and shouted "The picture wireless!" I must check my thesaurus to see if "picture wireless" is listed as an alternative for "television".

'tis true and speaking of alternatives, did you notice that Nicole Kidman refers to her surrogate mother as her 'gestational carrier'!
