One of the best things I've encountered on the internet, so I thought I'd share. I've been a member for a year or so. Quite simply, you lend money to people in poorer circumstances around the world, who are in business. It's usually just $25. The difference is, you get repaid, albeit over a few months. You then have the choice to re-lend to another person, or take the money back.
Such a simple concept, and really well run.
This is Kiva...It seems there are limited free loans, and I might win a T-shirt if enough of you take up on this, but I'm really not bothered about that element.
