I'm In The UK
« on: August 21, 2011, 06:19:44 PM »
Right, firstly sorry for being so slack in posting recently, but I've been totally overwhelmed by, er...stuff. I'm presently touring the UK and am posting this from my mum's in Saltcoats. I have been to Teesside and had my photo taken with Andy Capp's statue, and today I went to Lobey Dosser's statue, followed by a trip to Partick Station to have my photo taken with the G.I. Bride statue. If I get a chance I'll get my photo taken with the Giles Grandma statue in Ipswich, but that may be a bridge too far. I seem to have brought nice weather with me, I hope you are all appreciative. It's a huge pity that I can't get round to seeing you all, I would love to knock on your doors and say hello, even if you refused to let me in. I'll upload photos as soon as I get to a tech-friendly location.

Have a great time while you're here, Malc. I think we're all too far apart to be able to come for tea and cake but if you're going to be anywhere near Edgware..........!

Watch out for the pigeons!
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Vulch I would have loved to say hello, but even though Edgeware isn't off the beaten track (I'll be heading back to Heathrow to hand the hire car in by 6.30am on the 29th) I'll be at a friend's the night before, but it was a great offer.

Well, if you're heading North at any stage, I'm sure I could give you a cup of coffee on the doorstep.

Don't forget about Dorset.  I'm on leave from Wednesday 24.  The kettle is always on standby, as is the Tassimo (for real coffee).

Sorry Bilthe, I did Dorset just after I landed, it was a flying visit to my sis in Gillingham, but I couldn't stay. I don't anticipate being away too long, however, I do like being back in the UK, and I'll see you next time. I'll basically be performing a huge figure 8 from Heathrow over to Bristol, then up to the NE (Sunderland) then over to Glasgow, then down to London to finish off. Just couldn't fit everything in this time, so will have to come back in 2012, probably taking in the cartoon festival at Shrewsbury, where I hope to meet a shedload of you in one go.

I'm gutted!  Thanks for the thought though (that does not look right).  BY May next year I shall be away from Dorset and probably in the Worcester area (any clearer directions will probably result in too much unwarranted attention).
Re Shrewsbury cartoon festival, when is the next one?

We'll be in The Shed - (nice quaint pub).

I went out on the raz with Malcolm and his brother, one day last week. I don't think we've heard from him since. I hope he's okay!
