I have just spent the last few months on planes, it seems. I've been back and forth to the UK innumerable times, and have picked up dozens of Things I Hate. One of which gained me 25,000 frequent flyer miles as a result of a complaint I made to Emirates.
To wit:
I hate families who book at the last minute, get allocated separate seats then spend twenty minutes asking other passengers to move so they can all sit together.
I hate mental deficients who play air drums all the way from Singapore to Colombo.
I hate fidgets who constantly scrunch themselves down in their seat squeezing their knees against the seat in front to get comfy.
I hate idiots who suddenly throw their own seat back to the "rest" position whilst the people behind are still eating and drinking, spilling their drinks all over the place.
I hate sitting in a departure lounge waiting to board, only to find my plane is another 15 minute bus ride across the tarmac. I hate people who feel that hawking and spitting like a terminal consumptive is a part of a normal cleaning ritual.
I hate Dubai.
I hate the patent racism in British airports, especially the provincial ones, who force non EU passport holders to wait in the naughty queue whilst everyone else is processed first. It's happened twice in Newcastle, so it's policy, not accidental.
I'll think of some more in a minute.
