Most cartoonists have done a Rapunzel gag at some stage of their career.

So the sentence "It's a funny cartoon, beautifully drawn." was your subtle way of avoiding saying: "Yeah, yeah, been there, done that, got a tshirt with something similar."
No, I said it because it's a funny cartoon, beautifully drawn. Malc's angle was nicely subtle. Regardless of how many cartoons are done on "cliched themes"---desert islands etc....it's still possible to come up with a fresh twist. Come on, Mincey---I'm sure you could dash off one of your famous cartoons with a Rapunzel theme!

Mince? Famous cartoons? Oh, dear Lord - have I been away that long?
I apologise, in advance.

Even though I have come back to the UK regularly over the last 18 years, I never kept up with the telly. Lately, I've been amazed to see Bruce Forsyth still working. I remember he was always mentioned in conjunction with Tarby, usually at some golf pro-am thing or other, and we were encouraged to think of Brucie, Tarby, Parkie, etc, as the UK's version of Sinatra's rat pack.
I honestly thought Brucie would have moved to Australia, like Max Bygraves and (more lately) Leo Sayer.

It's also very similar to TTIII's rendition.

That was awesome - I was able to see it on high speed at the library like a normal person. I was cool to watch the stages of cartooning.
People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Glad you enjoyed it, Diane. Next time you're at the library, try this one for size (with the volume turned up full! ;D )....

I liked the way the video shows you doing all kinds of photoshop drawing wizardry seemingly without effort, and then right at the end it takes you three goes to sign your own name.

;D
I apologise, in advance.

Change the caption to "I'm all for the hard training but if that Di Canio continues to insist on Nazi salutes, it's going to be handballs all the way."

You are taking the pith out of my caption.

I'm saving the Rapunzel as a future political cartoon. The hair will be labelled "Unemployment", or "Exchange Rate Mechanism" or some such, and Rapunzel will be a political figure.

Or something.

Change the Rapunzel punchline to 'Come on. Admit it. You can't even come up with a decent political punchline for this.'

It's just so rubbish it might work.
