This strip still makes me laugh.
I love how Kettle and Christine's art works together. There is the ambiguity of the first two panes, especially for a newcomer to Beau Peep, as to whether Beau is calmly accepting being included by his friend in the dangerous mission (perhaps even proud), and the sudden contrast in the third strip that reveals his cowardice. There is also the repeated wording that shows his utter frustration with his dumb friend, as though expecting him to understand at least enough not to volunteer him for danger. And Christine's artwork perfectly captures the humour: I love the misleading thoughtful look on Beau's face in the first two panes, the calm moon through the window, and Dennis' leg in the air in the last pane.
And for some reason I love the face of the legionnaire closest to Beau as he strains to pull Beau off Dennis.
