Favourite Sweets
« on: October 25, 2015, 11:22:50 AM »
I know Roger will probably tell us he has never eaten sweets because they look too much like cheese, but I was wondering what everyone's favourite sweets were, as a kid and now.

KID: black jacks, refreshers, refresher lollies, sherbert

NOW: the same plus Wagon Wheels and Bounty bars

I visited an out-of-the-way town this summer, in a gas station they had bags of UK candy; I bought a bag of "Dolly Mix" -  it was nasty sugary stuff.

Kid: Pear Drops; flake (in an ice cream on days out near the beach); white mice; cola bottles. At Christmas my mother would make toffee in a short tin tray.

Now: I like the good quality jelly beans - the small ones packed with flavour with "top banana" being the bestest in the bag.
