You miss anything in Scotland at present...due to the fact that you can see f**k all in the driving rain.

I went to Ayr beach today. 40 min drive there, 5min walk in the wind, 5 min wait in a queue for a roll n' square sausage, 5 min walk back to the car in the driving rain, 40 min drive back home and the rest of the afternoon wondering why I still choose to stay in this country.

Mind you..anything beats staying in England.

 ;D ;D ;D

Just remember that it was someone in England who gave your avatar a mortar board.

After the drought, we got the forest fire (we just got the smoke) then we got the tree-smashing five day snow, lost power for more than 24 hours but did get the generator out, then we got official rain warnings that came with hail then we got 90km/hr gusting winds over four hours.

And through all that, my pansies survived.

They send official warnings using the medium of hail?

And through all that, my pansies survived.

I misread that!  :-X :-[ :P

I now feel rather guilty about mentioning how I had to slip on a cardigan.

Tsk, tsk.

...5 min wait in a queue for a roll n' square sausage...

Ah, you had to remind me, square sausage...I can almost taste it, darn you.

Today, I drove from Aviemore to Ullapool, then up through Elphin and back down to Inverness  along the length of Loch Shin, before returning to Aviemore. It rained a wee bit, but mostly it didn't.

I ******* LOVE Scotland, whatever the weather.
I apologise, in advance.

Are these places in The Lord of the Rings?

I conquered my first Munro in nearly 40 years yesterday, by reaching the summit of Cairngorm Mountain with only the aid of a good pair of boots and a Tesco Meal Deal. I admit, we started from the ski run car park, a good way up the mountain, and I supplemented the Meal deal with macaroni and chips at the restaurant near the summit before the final descent, but I bagged me another Munro, and that counts! Only a further 280 to go.

I ******* LOVE Scotland!
I apologise, in advance.

It's Baggins, not bagged.

You should have gone to Marks and Spencer and bought this:

I conquered my first Munro in nearly 40 years yesterday,

Was it Caroline Munro? I had a crush on her. She had a restraining order on me.
