Ah, now you see the reason I don't often post is partially contained in this thread.  If I take the time to work out all the little digs, innuendos, lines of thought, etc, I don't have time to post!  ;D In fact when I looked at this thread briefly yesterday a couple of things made me smile, then when I read it properly today I laughed out loud.  Does an old bird good to laugh in the morning.  Which brings me to one thing that made me smile ... Hi Vulture, where on earth did you get the impression that I am young blood?  I think I'm about three years younger than Roger, give or take three weeks, but me thinks that does not me a young person make.  ;)  Very flattered though.

Peter - "sensible"? Not sure I want to be that - come on here to get away from "sensible", but I'll try not to go too far off the sensible road. So keep up the deviations, guys, just leave Tarquin alone - he seems quite nice really.  Tarquin, you forget that I've been here before, so I know how they treat you.  I will resist all attempts at seduction. Don't let that put you off having a go, though - haven't been seduced for years, more's the pity.

Great to talk to you all - where's my fellow Ozscot, Malc gone?

Joan

Malc's in Blighty on a month's tour, Joan. I'm keeping an eye out for him.
I apologise, in advance.

I see that you have also fallen in to Mince sticky hands. He will punish you for not reading through your post and getting ("took") wrong . Are the fallibility of the old. Mind you I don't know how to do it.

Well, it should be!

I've read Peter's posts four times now and I still haven't a clue what he's going on about. ???

If you read Joan's post you will find that it is missing a letter to make sense  the word she used was TOO the word she possible should have used TOOK

I think it was more the last couple of sentences that caused the confusion, Peter.
I apologise, in advance.

Thank you, Tarquin. That's exactly why I'm confused.  ???

May I suggest that Peter intended to write something like, "Ah, the fallibility of the old! Mind you, I don't know how to spell either."?
I apologise, in advance.
