I've always wondered what was the best thing before sliced bread.

Baguettes.
I apologise, in advance.

Actually, machine-sliced bread dates back to 1912, whereas baguettes were first baked in large quantities in 1920 when French bakers were banned from working before 4am.

That's okay: you just have a penchant for the wrong.

I think the key words are "in large quantities".  ..0

If we're not talking about "in large quantities" (as in on an industrial scale), I think you'll find people have been slicing bread "not in large quantities" ever since bread was invented, and I'm sure baguettes did not precede bread.

I'm just impressed how you managed to use the words "in on an" consecutively.

I once wrote a sentence with the word "and" repeated five times consecutively.

Jeez! I've led such an inadequate life.

And in addition you've discovered you've never written a sentence with five consecutive "and"s.

You should learn how to write sentences with five consecutive ands. You life might become less inadequate then. Playing Stupidemic might achieve the same result.
