Singing Karaoke
« on: September 16, 2007, 05:24:07 PM »
I mentioned on another thread that I have sung karaoke once or twice (the first time I sang, I did "Nothing Rhymed", which is a song Roger raves about).

My point is, very often people smirk, or laugh out loud when I perform, even though I am usually note-perfect, sing with dignity, and dress smartly. I always consider that to be very rude. In fact, when I was doing the lovely song "A Single Girl", I came quite close to actually walking off the stage.

Nostalgia is not what it used to be. 😟

Maybe they just couldn't believe you were single, Peepsie?
I apologise, in advance.

I sang karaoke for the first time two summers ago - on Canada Day in the gazebo in the public park. I did it with a friend because we were both too chicken to do it on our own.

Since then I bought a karaoke machine on eBay and have about 40 included karaoke CDs. I can sing anything from "Old MacDonald had a Farm" to songs by Queen. I am very good - probably just as good as Nige. I may even be slightly better.

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

Are you familiar with the name Simon Cowell, Diane?
I apologise, in advance.

Freddy Mercury singing "Old MacDonald". That I would have loved to hear.

Simon Cowell? Did he take over the farm after Old MacDonald sold out?

Simon Cowell looked after the cattle.

Simon Pigell looked after the swine, and Simon Sheepell looked after the ewes.

Simon Cowell looked after the cattle.

Simon Pigell looked after the swine, and Simon Sheepell looked after the ewes.

Now, that sounds highly unlikely!

Maybe I should get in touch with Old MacDonald myself.

I'll send him an e-i-e-i-o-mail.

I have no grandchildren - yet...

Anyway "Old MacDonald had a farm, e-i-e-i-o."

Shouldn't that be "Old MacDonald had a farm, f-a-r-m?"

Kid's spelling today's atrocious."

I wonder what songs people would deem appropriate for members of this board to sing at a karaoke night...

Peter: "I Put a Spell On You".

(Usually an incorrect one).

You don't want to hear me sing. It is much like a cross between a hippo and a camel. The publican uses me after last orders are called. It clears the inn in seconds.

Is yours the Birdy  song.
