Merry Christmas!
« on: December 25, 2024, 10:25:32 AM »
I hope you all have a wonderful time. The Kettle gathering will consist of eight adults and one very excited two and a half year old. I will be donning my Beau Peep apron (anyone still got one of those?) to prepare the Christmas meal which we eat around 5.30. At around 4.30, I will be joined in the kitchen by a generous gin and tonic. Cheers!
Enjoy yourselves!

Thanks Roger!

We are having a later dinner today too. The turkey is riddled with holes from the meat thermometer but is just not co-operating lol

My son surprised me with a bloody big Pikachu - I mean massive. I LOVE it :-)

Wishing peace and joy to everyone.

At first glance, I thought that Pikachu was your turkey!

Me, too - but I couldn't see any thermometer holes. Thank goodness it didn't need thawing!

I had a fabulous Christmas Day with family, shoe-horned between the busiest Festive working period I can ever recall, between extra newspaper work and live caricaturing days at the Gleneagles Hotel (there are worse places to spend the Christmas/New Year week, even when you're working). Apologies for not responding sooner, but I've hardly been home for the past four days, and I'll be working the next four (not complaining!). Looking forward to putting my feet up on January 1st, and playing with my new toys...

A belated Merry Christmas to you all, and a very happy New Year when it arrives.

Oh, and a link to this year's animated Christmas card... https://youtu.be/43kN_OtIrCc
I apologise, in advance.

Lego and Plasticine - it's a joyous time warp!

Every time my granddaughter arrives, she insists we get her bricks out and build a house for one of her toys. Then it's time to make plasticine bananas for her stuffed monkey, followed by a game of hide and seek. Then I sleep for two hours...

Glad to hear that plasticine is making a comeback.

Great cartoon once again Tarqs - I started playing Code Names on an app a few days ago - I found three words that could be connected with a one word 007 clue. Apparently the word Octopussy is offensive to some players so I had to go with Moonraker.

BTW the board game Code Names is now my favourite Christmas board game.

I hear you, Roger. These are the rewarding times for the likes of us, finally paying off after years of relentless hard labour at the coal face... staring out of windows, creating daft wee cartoons.
I apologise, in advance.

Indeed, Tarqs. Joyous but exhausting! At the age of two and a half, my granddaughter is currently obsessed with sea creatures. She has a book with pictures of them. I glanced at one and asked "Is that a swordfish?" She gave me a withering look and answered "It's a narwhal."
She is already extremely annoying.

:D  I hope you found her a picture of a real swordfish, Roger, or just going to think you're really silly.
I apologise, in advance.
