I've waited 364 days to wear my Halloween t-shirt - it arrived a day late last year.

Most years we don't get any trick-or-treaters but I always buy candy - I just tested a Twix bar out - two thumbs up.

Happy Halloween!

People will come from strange lands to hear me speak my words of wisdom. They will ask me the secret of life and I will tell them. Then maybe I'll finish off with a song. The Nomad

My wife bought a large tin of Quality Street in case any trick-or-treaters came round. None did. She is very happy.

:D

I bought a tub of sweets even though I live in a forest, far from the nearest proper road, and I was fairly certain to be 100 miles away in Kilmarnock watching my team play football when most of the kids were out guising. However, my two older grandkids live literally next door in the same building with my daughter and her hubby, so they turned up on my doorstep on Friday evening, not even in costume, and left me with just a small handful of the contents of the tub. Which I was happy about, because, as predicted, no other kids braved the dark, pot-holed, single track 'road' to our house... and I'm not really allowed sweet stuff, so that handful was more than enough.

Happy Halloween indeed! :)

Twix (I think it's its own plural) is/are one of my favourites also, Diane - always has/have been.
I apologise, in advance.

I feel I should have been dressed as a paramedic this hallowe'en. An adolescent came to the door, having fallen in a neighbour's driveway. There was not an insignificant amount of blood pumping out of two knee wounds. I told him I approved of his shunning the fake stuff and going full method with the gore, but he didn't seem to appreciate the gag.
Anyway, no sooner was he patched up and sent off to his waiting parents, than my daughter was caught on the forehead with a burning marshmallow. (She and some friends were making 'smores) If Harry Potter had a scar the shape of a mars bar, then she could pass it off as a pastiche of the boy wizard. As it is, it's a race against time for it all to be cleared up before the Peterhead panto kicks off.
When I was a lad, the biggest danger was choking on a monkey nut, or drowing when dooking for apples. Oh for those days again...
